When it comes to quick and easy meals, the air fryer takes the cake every single time! If you're in a hurry, try using your air fryer to save time and hands-on work... it's a total lifesaver in the kitchen!

These air fryer frozen french toast sticks are perfect for a quick and easy breakfast, especially for those of us with picky eaters. Just toss them in the air fryer, and in a matter of minutes, they are ready to be served up to hungry bellies. I like to serve them with some greek yogurt and fruit on the side, and some maple syrup for dipping (of course).

Why Make Frozen French Toast Sticks in an Air Fryer?

    1. It takes way less time than the oven!
    2. They make a kid-friendly breakfast idea that will always win praise.
    3. Easy to serve with a variety of fruit, yogurt, and dipping sauces to make a full breakfast.
    4. A great method for making just enough for 1-2 people in less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

    What You'll Need:

    • Frozen French Toast Sticks: I used the plain style that comes as a perforated piece of toast, but you can use the standard cinnamon sugar-coated frozen french toast sticks. Just make sure you leave them in the freezer until you're ready to add them to the air fryer!
    • Air Fryer: You can use any style of air fryer, although you will need to add a few extra minutes if you use an oven-style (like the Instant Pot Vortex) model compared to using a basket-style model (like this Ninja XL).

How to Make Frozen French Toast Sticks in the Air Fryer

To get started, make sure you preheat your air fryer to 390ºF for at least 3 minutes, or according to your manufacturer's instructions.

    1. Add your french toast sticks in an even layer.
    2. Cook at 390ºF for 4-6 minutes, flipping them at the halfway point.
    3. Once the french toast sticks are browned and crispy, remove them and serve with syrup, powdered sugar, or your choice of toppings.

*NOTE: If you're using french toast sticks that separate (like I did), bend them at the perforations and break them into individual sticks before serving.

Basic Air Frying Tips and Tricks

    • Always preheat your air fryer. Every model has different requirements for preheating, but my model (this Ninja basket style) it is recommended to heat it for 3 minutes before adding the food. Some other models have a preheat setting, so it's important to check the manual for your particular model.
    • Flip the food halfway through the cooking time. Although the air fryer offers more even cooking than a traditional oven, it's still important to flip the food to get the best possible results. This makes sure both sides are evenly browned.
    • Check your food. Every model cooks at a different pace, and oven-style air fryers tend to take longer than basket-style models. It's important to check your food earlier than the expected end time in order to prevent overcooking or burning.

I'm surprised how easy this recipe is. I was making mine in the oven because the microwave makes them soggy, but the oven takes so long to heat up! I love this new easier air fryer method. I'll be using this to make french toast sticks for my kids from now on!
