Looking for a new sweet treat? You need to try this Greek Yogurt Jello recipe! It's the perfect creamy dessert, uses just 2 ingredients, and packs 18 grams of protein per serving. It's sure to become a new favorite!

A small parfait glassed filled with protein mousse, topped wtih whipped cream and raspberries.

I first saw a version of this recipe when I was scrolling through TikTok one evening, and after trying a few of the original recipes, I knew that it could be improved.

I started the testing process and found that reducing the liquid to ½ cup water (instead of the full amount) made for a better texture and more concentrated flavor.

We love to prep a few different flavors to keep on hand for a quick and easy snack or dessert. It's the perfect way to sneak in some extra protein – all while satisfying your sweet tooth.

    Why You'll Love It:

    • Just 2 ingredients. If you have Greek yogurt and powdered Jell-O, you have everything you need to make this easy recipe!
    • High protein. This is one of our favorite healthy treats. They are high protein, low in calories, low carb, low fat, and work for a variety of needs.
    • Easy dessert recipe. The best part isn't even the creamy texture – it's how easy they are to make! Just whisk together the ingredients, chill, and then you're ready to serve up these tasty treats any night of the week.

    Ingredients

Several packages of jello, some water, and greek yogurt.
    • Greek yogurt: Use your favorite Greek-style plain yogurt for this recipe. Skyr also works for this recipe, so long as it is unflavored and unsweetened. Non-fat Greek yogurt can be used if desired.
    • Flavored gelatin powder: Also known as Jell-O, this adds flavor, sweetness, and thickness. We like to use sugar-free options (to keep it low carb), but regular works well too!
    • Water: You will need ½ cup of boiling water for dissolving the gelatin. Don't follow the package instructions – you need much less water than what is called for.
    • Vanilla (optional): Adding a splash of vanilla extract adds a special touch to certain flavors (especially orange). It's totally optional, though!

How to Make Greek Yogurt with Jello

Whisking powdered jello into water in a large bowl.
    • Step one: Whisk one package of your favorite sugar-free gelatin flavor into ½ cup of boiling water.

    • Step two: Transfer about ¾ cup of plain Greek yogurt to the bowl, and whisk gently until it's well combined.

    • Step three: Add the remaining ¾ cup of yogurt and whisk until it has a smooth, lump-free consistency.
Parfait glasses filled with greek yogurt jello mousse.
    • Step four: Divide the mixture between 2 parfait glasses.
    • Wrap them with plastic wrap, and place in the fridge to chill for 1-2 hours, or until completely set.

    Serve and Enjoy!

Unwrap the parfait glass and top with a dollop of whipped cream, a few fresh berries, fresh fruit, etc. (if desired).

    More Flavor Options

    • Orange creamsicle: Add ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract to the sugar free orange Jello mixture.
    • Cranberry orange: Add 1 teaspoon of orange zest to a base made with cranberry Jell-O.
    • Strawberry jello parfait: Use strawberry as the base flavor, and top with whipped cream and sliced fresh strawberries.
    • Chocolate cherry: Use cherry Jell-O as your base flavor, then top each serving with whipped cream and a few chocolate chips.
    • Jello yogurt bowl: Add the mixture to a shallow bowl instead of parfait glasses and chill until set. Top with fresh berries, granola, or the toppings of your choice.
    • Sugar-free Jello whip: Also known as Jello whips, this is a lighter version of these yogurt cups. Reduce the yogurt to 1 cup and add 1 cup of ice water after dissolving the flavored jello in boiling water. Whip in a blender, then pour into glasses and chill.

    Expert Tips

    • Use boiling water. Using very hot water is what activates and dissolves the gelatin. Do not use cold water – it will not turn out as expected.
    • Gradually whisk the yogurt into the jello mixture. In order to reduce the chance of lumps, we recommend whisking a little bit of the yogurt into the dissolved gelatin, then add the remaining half and whisk until smooth.
    • Use plain or vanilla Greek yogurt. We recommend using plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt (or skyr), but if you prefer, you can use lightly sweetened vanilla Greek yogurt instead.
    • Don't use sugar free pudding mix. Jello also makes a dry pudding mix, but it shouldn't be confused with the gelatin powder that is used in this recipe.

    Notes

*The water must be boiling to activate the gelatin.
Storage: Keep covered tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Flavors: You can make this in whatever flavor you like! Sugar-free Jell-O comes in a variety of flavors. Our favorites are raspberry and orange, but it also comes in lemon, lime, strawberry, and several other flavors.
*Orange creamsicle flavor: Add vanilla extract and use orange Jell-O mix for a creamsicle-inspired take.
WW points: I used a WW calculator to calculate the points per serving, and it worked out to 3 Smart Points. For the most accurate information, input the details into your WW app.

This is the perfect dessert for after dinner, or a snack to hold you over mid-morning. It's really delicious and SO easy to make. My favorite flavor is raspberry, but orange creamsicle is a close runner-up.
