1package Crescent Roll Doughunrolled
16candy eyesoptional
½teaspoonhoneyoptional
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 350F for at least 3 minutes, or according to your manufacturers instructions.
Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles.
Use a pizza cutter to cut a single triangle into long, thin strips.
Wrap the strips in a "mummy" style pattern around the hot dog. Leave a space for the eyes. Repeat, using 1 triangle of cut dough per hot dog, until all of the hot dogs have been wrapped.
Cook your hot dogs in the air fryer for 5-8 minutes, or until the crescent roll dough is golden and puffy, and the hot dog is warmed throughout. If you have a small air fryer, you will need to work in batches. Refrigerate the wrapped hot dogs in between batches.
Remove the mummy dogs from the air fryer using a pair of tongs.
If using the candy eyes, dot the back of the candy eye with a small bit of honey and wedge into the space left for the eyes. See the "notes" section for alternative eye suggestions.
Cool for 5 minutes, then serve and enjoy!
Notes
Suggestions for eyes:
Candy eyes: Dot the back of the candy eye with honey and wedge it into the "eye hole" portion of the wrapped mummy dog. Do this immediately after baking or air frying.
Mustard eyes: Once they have cooled down, add two dots of mustard with a toothpick
Chocolate chip eyes: dot the back of the chocolate chips with honey and wedge it into the "eye hole."
Gel eyes: Add dots of gel icing (black would work best) after the hot dogs have cooled.
Oven Instructions:If you don't have an Air Fryer, you can still make this delicious and fun Halloween treat! Just preheat your oven to 375F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Prepare the mummy dogs as directed, and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-18 minutes, or until the crescent roll dough is puffy, golden, and baked through. Cool for 5 minutes, then serve.
